This device is intended to filter that unwanted Ingress in your reverse distribution plant. Simply substitute a JXP attenuator in your reverse path with this device, and you are on your way to a flatter EOL response. Available in 0 dB through 9 dB attenuator values, in 1 dB steps. JXP style are
rectangular attenuators with pins arranged in-line (0.125 inch ctr.
- ctr. spacing). Pins are often 0.038 inch diameter. This style
attenuator can most often be inserted in two ways (flipped 180 degrees),
and provides the same performance either way. Communication Associates
Inc. typically offers 0 through 25 dB in steps of 0.5 dB. Additionally,
0.25 and 0.75 dB steps are available for JXP series up to 5.0 dB.

SXP style are
round attenuators with pins arranged in a triangular shape. Pins
are often 0.019 inch diameter. Some of these have a mechanical keying
feature to help orient them properly for insertion, while others
do not. Communication Associates Inc. typically offers 0 through
25 dB in steps of 0.5 dB.

Communication
Associates Inc. offers a line of thermal attenuators in 0 through
10 dB. These are attenuators which change their amount of attenuation
as temperature changes. This is useful for compensating system level
errors in some cases. Lower dB values are usable through 750 MHz,
while the entire line is rated at 200 MHz for return path applications.
